- One large bunch of asparagus, washed and cut into one-inch lengths
- Two medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- Two medium leeks cut into one-inch rounds
- Chicken or vegetable stock
- One clove garlic, crushed
- Fresh chives to garnish (optional)
